A friend of mine, Ben Nicholson, tragically lost his wife Annita, son Alex, 14, and daughter Annabel, 12, on the last day of their family holiday in Sri Lanka in the Easter Sunday 2019 bombings in Colombo.

On the 10th and 11th July I will be hiking 100 kilometers with various friends and Nicholson family members as part of the Race to the Stones challenge. This will involve walking for over 20 hours across the Chilterns, culminating at the stone circle at Avebury.

The Nicholsons were a rugby mad family and we will be raising money for The Nicholson Memorial Fund of The Atlas Foundation. This is a rugby based charity founded by Rugby World Cup winner Jason Leonard, that exists to help deprived children, in some of the poorest parts of the world, work towards a better future through community based initiatives. With the money raised, Ben hopes to establish such a project in one of the most deprived areas of Columbo.

If you are able to make a donation, however small, it would mean a great deal to me and the Nicholson Memorial Fund. Thank you.
